Between writing his first play at the age of eleven, serving as Chairman of the Canada Council and Governor of the National Theatre School, and up to the present day, this playwright, producer, theatrical administrator, librettist, actor and more has literally devoted his life to the development of the theatre arts in Canada. The range and quality of his accomplishments in this field have been unequaled and represent an outstanding record of service. (This is a promotion within the Order).
