Coming to Canada from Sweden with a law degree, he turned to theatre and became an accomplished actor, director and teacher. As Prairie Drama Producer for CBC, and eventually as National Supervisor of Drama in Toronto, he consistently fostered Canadian acting and presented many Canadian plays on radio and television. His large output showed such mastery of technical skill that in 1959 his services were sought to establish a West Indies radio service.
