She is a native of Labrador, whose work with the Grenfell Mission began even before her training as a nurse. Her professional career began at St. Anthony and North West River. After her marriage she worked with the Eskimos and the Moravian missions, then embarked on twenty years of nursing in St. John's. Now retired in Labrador, she serves on the boards of the regional health service and a senior citizens' home.
