Mrs. Phelan has devoted a lifetime to voluntary service. Branching out from the Junior League, she has given of her energies and financial resources to a variety of causes in support of the arts, health services and education. Her particular efforts have been directed towards the Women's College Hospital and Lyndhurst Hospital (for paraplegics), both of which have helped thousands of people in Toronto and district.
