With a background of law and university administration he became, in 1968, President of the Donner Canadian Foundation. Under him, its enlightened granting programmes were focused on areas of vital importance such as law reform, foreign policy and the Northern peoples. His voluntary efforts have been directed towards education, hospitals and advice to government.
