Under her leadership, Winnipeg's Mount Carmel Clinic became a model for North America's community health care centres, particularly for its innovative, interdisciplinary approach to the changing needs of the community. Always demonstrating a deep concern for others, she has also been an active lobbyist, broadcaster, writer and counsellor.
