A successful businessman, he has also been a strong force in the community life of Edmonton. Besides his work for charities, the arts, education, the Scouts and the World University Games, he has contributed much to ecological conservation. The preservation of Pigeon Lake and the establishment of the Clifford Lee Nature Sanctuary are among his chief efforts on behalf of his province.
