Having begun as an office boy at Dominion Foundries and Steel in Hamilton, he has risen to Vice-Chairman of the firm. He has helped it not only to attain its position of leadership but to develop a profit-sharing plan for employees. His many community endeavours include the new Art Gallery of Hamilton and fund-raising for McMaster University and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
