Henry Barnett has greatly contributed to the research, management and prevention of stroke throughout the world. Professor emeritus at the University of Western Ontario and researcher at the John P. Robarts Research Institute, he has directed some of the largest and most important multi-centred studies on stroke prevention. Inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame in 1995, he is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honours, including the Izaac Walton Killam Memorial Prize. This is a promotion within the Order.
