A pre-eminent researcher in sociology and family issues, Robert Glossop has helped shape social policy and influence significant changes to Canadian family law. His research has focused on helping Canadians understand how changing social and economic realities have altered the dynamics and broadened the definition of the family. During his three-decade career with the Vanier Institute of the Family, he positioned this organization as a leading source of information on the evolution of the family in Canada. Through his advocacy and active participation in over 20 committees and groups, including the National Forum on Family Security and the Canadian Council on Social Development, he has shown a deep and continuing commitment to enriching the lives of Canadians.
