Thomas Garfat is an acclaimed advocate for youth. He developed a seminal therapeutic training program, the Purposeful Use of Daily Life Events, and established the characteristics of relational child and youth care practice, both of which are used internationally. He also co-founded the International Child and Youth Care Network, as well as The Journal of Child and Youth Care, Canada’s first and longest-running publication of its type in the field.
