President and founder of the Entreprises Baril Limitée of Noranda. In recognition of the important role he played in the economic development of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, as well as for his participation in numerous community and sports activities. He was the originator of the Mercuriades program of the Quebec Chamber of Commerce.
