Angela Enright is devoted to advancing safe anesthesia practices in Canada and abroad. A clinical professor, medical director and anesthesiologist, she is also the first woman to serve as president of the Canadian Anesthesiolgist's Society and the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists. She has travelled to many underserved countries, including Rwanda and Nepal, to improve education and safety standards by establishing anesthesia training programs. She continues to contribute to patient safety worldwide through the World Health Organization's Safe Surgery Saves Lives project.
