James Igloliorte is dedicated to promoting Inuit culture as the first Inuk provincial court judge in Newfoundland and Labrador. He served as a truth commissioner and advisor to the National Inquiry on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and was part of the legal team that was instrumental in establishing Nunatsiavut. A revered mentor, he has helped Inuit lawyers and legal scholars to forge their own unique legal careers.
