Sheldon John Currie, C.M.
Antigonish, Nova Scotia
Author, literary critic and St. Francis Xavier University professor emeritus Sheldon Currie has proudly told and preserved the stories of Cape Breton and its people. His novel, The Glace Bay Miners’ Museum, inspired the film Margaret’s Museum and was adapted as a play for CBC radio and the stage. The Antigonish Review, for which he was the fiction editor for more than 30 years, has named the annual Sheldon Currie Fiction Prize in his honour.
