Margaret Hughes has profoundly impacted the lives of countless youth. An indispensable part of Rossbrook House for four decades, she opened her arms and heart to all those accessing this safe, inclusive space in Winnipeg’s Centennial neighbourhood. An early pioneer in reconciliation, she ardently supported youth, education, interfaith initiatives and social justice, notably through the establishment of the Wi Wabigooni elementary school program and the annual powwow. An unrelenting advocate for every student, she helped make this second home one of the city’s most respected institutions of its kind.
