He is the founder of Sunfest, a free-admission music and multicultural festival that welcomes over 225 000 visitors annually to London, Ontario. A talented musician, he is also a strong proponent of music’s importance in society, and played a key role in the declaration of London as Canada’s first UNESCO City of Music.
