A well-respected educator and versatile composer, Stephen Chatman has made lasting contributions to Canadian cultural life. He has produced a remarkable body of work including choral, orchestral and piano compositions that are described as evocative, compelling and eclectic. His music has been widely performed, recorded and published both nationally and internationally. As a professor and head of the composition division at the University of British ColumbiaÆs School of Music, he has had a tremendous influence on a generation of prominent composers.
