Jim Durrell’s contributions to the City of Ottawa have left a legacy for generations to come. As a businessman, volunteer and former mayor, he championed various initiatives in the areas of education, health care, recreation and civic infrastructure. He was a key player in ensuring the expansion and modernization of the Ottawa Convention Centre and the city’s international airport, and in attracting several professional sports teams to the city. The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport have also benefited from his leadership.
