Denise Chong writes books that help to raise our social consciousness. Following a decade as an economist in Ottawa, she worked in China as a freelance journalist where she was inspired to write her family memoir, a story that gives voice to the Chinese immigrant experience in Canada. Her subsequent books reflect her compassion for victims of oppression. Committed to building a caring nation, she shares her public policy expertise on numerous task forces and boards of national organizations, including the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada.
