Allan Bell is a champion of Canadian musicians and their music. As a composer and as a professor of music at the University of Calgary, he has created original and evocative compositions for orchestra, opera, chamber groups, choirs and electro-acoustic media. His dedication to music education led to the creation of the Young Composers program, which taps into the creativity of Calgary's elementary students. He also served twice as president of the national board of the Canadian Music Centre, fostering the development of our composers and promoting our artists nationally and internationally.
