Cyril Simard has devoted his life to preserving and showcasing our heritage. An architect by training, but also a designer and ethnologist, he created the economuseology concept and founded the International ECONOMUSEUM Network Society, which comprises artisanal business operations that are open to the public. The society is dedicated to ensuring the continued existence and transmission of traditional trades from a modern perspective. Under his leadership, the network has developed here in Canada and abroad. The first to hold the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Heritage at UniversitÚ Laval, he is also leaving his mark on the heritage community through his teachings, publications and involvement within various organizations.
