Officer of the Order of Canada
Albert Bandura is one of the world’s most influential psychologists. Over the course of six decades as a professor of psychology at Stanford University, he has made fundamental contributions to the study of social psychology. Beginning with his groundbreaking experiments in the 1960s that demonstrated the power of social modelling in the acquisition of aggressive behaviour, he has continued to be at the forefront of our understanding of social learning. His studies identifying core influences on human behaviour have shaped both policy and practice in such fields as education, public health and mass communication.
