Duncan Gordon Sinclair, C.M.
Kingston, Ontario
Duncan Sinclair is a force for change in Canadian health care. He was the first non-medical doctor to serve as a dean of medicine in Canada, and implemented North America’s first alternative funding program for academic medicine. Beyond his contributions to medical education, he has advised federal and provincial governments on public health reform. As chair of Ontario’s Health Services Restructuring Commission, he transformed the province’s health landscape. Professor emeritus at Queen’s University, he has inspired generations of health care leaders with his judgment and courage to push for change.
