Cherokee Nation scholar, author and advocate Daniel Heath Justice has greatly influenced contemporary Indigenous studies in North America and abroad. He contributes to this important dialogue as a professor and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Literature and Expressive Culture at the University of British Columbia. In addition, several organizations devoted to Indigenous and 2SLGBTQI+ studies have benefited from his leadership and expertise. Author of the field-defining book Why Indigenous Literatures Matter, he is highly praised for presenting complex social and cultural topics in an effective and approachable format.
