As commander of Task Force Jerusalem from July 2009 to July 2010, Colonel Lewis provided leadership to Canada's contribution to the United States Security Coordinator's mission to support Palestinian Authority security sector reform. Both a diplomat and soldier, he forged strong relationships with American, Israeli and Palestiniand stakeholders, and played a key role in ensuring the long-term viability of growing Palestinian security forces. Colonel Lewis' efforts enhanced relations with key allies and highlighted Canada's role in the Middle East peace process.
