Lieutenant-Colonel Tardif was the commanding officer of the National Support Element from April to October 2009. With her in-depth understanding of Afghanistan's complex operational environment, she ensured the delivery of the necessary logistical support for successful Canadian and coalition counter-insurgency operations. Under her leadership, the unit provided the commander with the operational flexibility required to address the ever-changing battle conditions. Her professionalism greatly contributed to the Canadian Forces’ efforts in Afghanistan.
