    From March to September 2021, Lieutenant-Colonel Barrette served with distinction as commander of Joint Task Force – Ukraine Medical Training Group. An insightful and analytical leader, he identified the lack of training and standards of combat casualty care as one of the key survivability issues for the Ukrainian military in operations. To address this issue, he implemented an integrated training program. Lieutenant-Colonel Barrette’s professional and diplomatic contributions greatly enhanced the credibility of the Canadian Armed Forces’ capabilities in Ukraine.
