As commander of Joint Task Force Ukraine, Lieutenant-Colonel Leroux developed a plan to modernize the individual and collective training system, which had a remarkable impact on the professionalization and development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He also strengthened relations with key allies in the field and harmonized Canada’s contributions in the region. Through innovative thinking, he developed comprehensive, specific and effective options to support the analysis of the evolution of the Canadian Armed Forces mission in Ukraine.
