While deployed to Qatar from July to December 2018, Lieutenant-Colonel Klemen oversaw the management and supervision of Combined Air and Space Operations, which completed countless missions over four areas of operation during a period of six months. In addition, he effectively led a multinational team supporting numerous actions in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen and initiated several projects that significantly improved command, control, and information sharing measures. His expertise and tireless dedication proved invaluable to achieving mission success in a volatile environment and elevated Canada’s reputation abroad.
