Lieutenant-Colonel Reeves served as commanding officer of Joint Task Force Ukraine from September 2017 to March 2018. Known for his diplomacy and personal touch, he played a key role in expanding the training program offered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces to include sniper, medical and leadership skills development. In addition, he endeavoured to bridge strategic, operational and tactical objectives, earning the respect of superiors and subordinates alike, which contributed greatly to mission success and helped achieve Canada’s objectives in Ukraine.
