    Mavis and Ron Ramsey founded Helping Hands, a local charity that assists residents in need with the cost of prescriptions and medical expenses. By recycling cans, bottles and donated scrap metal, Helping Hands has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars since its creation in 2009, and has expanded its reach by funding flights to medical facilities and covering the cost of food for those with special needs.
