An outstanding athlete, Kathleen Heddle has been rowing at the international level since 1987 and is, together with her doubles partner, Canada's only winner of three Olympic Gold Medals. The remarkable drive and commitment she displayed during the 1996 Olympic Games resulted in an exceptionally high and rare level of performance. While Ms. Heddle continues to distinguish herself within her sport, she takes the time to participate in community and charity events. Through her achievements, she has brought honour to Canada and has become a role model for youth.
