Meritorious Service Cross (civil division)
After the 1991 Persian Gulf War, Dr. Hoskins coordinated the release and administration of two million dollars for the purchase of food and medicine for Iraqi people. Thanks to his efforts and determination, the lives of many Iraqis, including thousands of children, were saved. The following year, Dr. Hoskins co-founded the Health Reach program at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. This collaborative program is committed to investigating and promoting the health and well-being of people in war zones, and to working towards the steady decrease of armed conflicts. Dr. Hoskins' devoted humanitarian efforts have touched the lives of many and have brought great honour to Canada.
