Meritorious Service Medal (civil division)
A public servant with Parks Canada, Bob Gamble was appointed in 1995 as Chief Federal Negotiator for Inuit Impact and Benefit Agreements (IIBA) for national parks of Nunavut. Mr. Gamble was instrumental in the conclusion of the agreements which led to the creation of three national parks located on Ellesmere Island, on Baffin Island and on Bylot Island. These agreements, the country’s most complex ever negotiated, added 79,734 km2 to the total national parkland of Canada. Mr. Gamble’s major contribution will bring benefit to Canada for generations to come.
