Meritorious Service Medal (civil division)
A joint undertaking of the Government of Canada, the Province of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg, the Aboriginal Single Window Service Initiative was launched in 1997. Its main objective is to provide improved access to government programs and services to Aboriginal people in Winnipeg by co-locating federal, provincial and municipal departments and agencies dealing with the Aboriginal community. The project is led by Mr. Magus, the Regional Manager of Aboriginal Affairs with the federal department of Human Resources and Development Canada. Through his leadership and tireless personal efforts, Mr. Magus has brought Native peoples organizations and representatives of the three governments together in the pursuit and attainment of the common goal of addressing issues of interest to urban Aboriginal people.
