A well-known scholar and teacher, Dr. Remie is President of the Association of Canadian Studies in The Netherlands. In 1990, he organized the first Pan-European Conference on Canadian Studies aimed at bringing together scholars interested in Canada from all over Europe. Building on the success of the Conference, Dr. Remie went on to establish the European Task Force on Canadian Studies whose mandate is to promote teaching, communication and research in the field. His extraordinary contribution has brought great honour and benefit to Canada.
