Meritorious Service Medal (civil division)
During the Rwanda war in 1994, Mr. Logan worked for the International Federation of Red Cross Societies. He devoted countless hours to coordinating relief activities and assistance to hundreds of thousands of victims and refugees of the conflict. His efforts included managing camps, distributing food, providing medical services, ensuring protection to his staff and refugees, as well as reunifying families in the neighbouring countries of Burundi, Zaire, Tanzania and Uganda. Throughout this immense task, Mr. Logan displayed outstanding leadership and professionalism, and brought great credit to Canada.
