Concerned about injustice towards children, Daniel Germain created "Le Club des petits déjeuners du Québec" in 1994, which provides nutritious breakfasts to disadvantaged children every day before class. During the 2002-2003 school year alone, some 1.5 million breakfasts were served to 12 500 children in 150 schools across the province of Quebec. Thanks to Mr. Germain and a growing number of staff and partners, similar breakfast programs have been established throughout the country.
