In his capacity as Assistant Deputy Attorney General, Daniel Bellemare has played a leading role, on behalf of Canada, in the creation in 1995 of the International Association of Prosecutors. Thanks to his efforts, his dedication and his involvement in the Association's activities, Mr. Bellemare has contributed to increasing the understanding of the prosecutors' role while promoting international cooperation on criminal justice and human rights issues. Through his accomplishments, Mr. Bellemare has enhanced the international reputation of Canada and the high standards of its justice system.
