Physician Ed Brown developed and implemented North Network and oversaw its expansion to what is now called the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN), one of the largest telemedicine networks in the world. Through videoconferencing and other electronic equipment, OTN brings specialized health care to thousands of rural Ontario patients each day in their home communities, saving them the time and expense of travelling to urban centres for treatment.
