At every opportunity, Walter Cami demonstrates his gratitude for Canada’s role in liberating Belgium from occupation during the First and Second World Wars. An unofficial friendship ambassador, he welcomes Canadian visitors, helps them track down loved ones’ headstones, and guides them through cemeteries and historical sites. By creating and upgrading memorials and educating local youth about the sacrifices of our soldiers, he ensures the lives lost will be honoured by a new generation of Belgians.
