On December 15, 2012, Gérald Ottawa and his son, Atos, rescued a woman from a burning vehicle in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec. A man had crashed his truck into a house, trapping himself and his female passenger inside as a fire broke out in front of the vehicle. Mr. Ottawa and his son managed to pry open the passenger door and pull the woman to safety. The men then tried frantically to pull the driver out, but could not dislodge him; sadly, he did not survive.
