On June 5, 2012, Kyle Griffiths braved intense heat and smoke to pull an unconscious man from a burning vehicle in Emo, Ontario. The car had been hit by a train at a railway crossing and was pushed a significant distance down the track before it caught on fire. Mr. Griffiths ran to the vehicle and was able to unlatch the unresponsive driver's seatbelt and pull the him out. Sadly, the victim did not survive.
