On August 19, 2013, Hamid Jennane rescued a woman who was being attacked by her ex-husband in her apartment building in Montréal, Quebec. Upon hearing the woman's screams, Mr. Jennane armed himself with a chair and charged at the hammer-wielding attacker, forcing the man to back away and drop his weapon. Mr. Jennane then remained between the man and the woman until the police arrived, while others tended to the victim's injuries.
