On September 3, 2013, Tyler Kelley stopped a pit bull from attacking a woman in Scarborough, Ontario. The woman had picked up one of the dog's toys when it suddenly attacked her. Mr. Kelley jumped on the aggressive animal and, at risk of being bitten, pried the dog's jaws open to release its hold on the victim. He managed to confine the dog to a bedroom and then took care of the victim until help arrived.
