On January 22, 2011, Michael Henry and Kirk Laroque rescued three women from a house fire, in Roseau River, Manitoba. From the street, the men noticed flames coming from the roof of the residence and ran inside. Mr. Henry went to the basement and woke up a woman who managed to escape. Disregarding their own safety, Messrs. Henry and Laroque located a badly burnt 16-year-old girl on the main floor and dragged her outside. Despite the intense heat and flames, they re-entered the dwelling and brought out a third woman, but were unable to revive her.
