Medal of Bravery

On October 31, 2011, Sarnia Police constables Joel Fraser and John Shean, and ride-along trainee Bobbi-Jo Dalziel, rescued a man from a burning apartment, in Sarnia, Ontario. The three were dispatched to the fire and advised that the victim was still inside, on the second floor. Arriving at the victim's apartment, they opened the door and crawled inside. The heavy smoke forced them to retreat several times in their brief search. Hearing the victim groaning, they crawled back in and located the man. They dragged him out and carried him downstairs to an awaiting ambulance. He was brought to the hospital where he later recovered.
