On December 31, 2010, André Fauchon rescued a man from a burning vehicle, on route 204, in Saint-Camille-de-Lellis, Quebec. Mr. Fauchon stopped at the scene of an accident involving two vehicles and rushed to help. Unable to assist anyone in the first vehicle, which was completely engulfed in flames, Mr. Fauchon ran to the second one but could not open the damaged driver's side door. He went to the passenger side as the smoke completely filled the vehicle. Holding his breath, Mr. Fauchon partially entered the vehicle through the window, grabbed the victim under the arms, and pulled him out. With another man's help, Mr. Fauchon brought the victim to a safer location.
