Medal of Bravery
On January 28, 2009, constables Neal Fowler, Roger Paris and Nicholas Roy risked their lives to rescue a man trapped inside an overturned tractor-trailer rig, in Saint John, New Brunswick. The truck had knocked down a telephone pole and was spilling fuel on the roadway, where downed wires arced in a large ball of flames. Dispatched to the scene, the constables climbed on top of the cab and kicked at the windshield, undeterred by the forceful electrical shocks they received in the process. After breaking a hole in the glass, they helped the driver get out and escorted him a safe distance away.
